David is a passionate and dedicated music educator who has extensive experience not only in private music tuition but also in primary school music education and retail music.

David began playing the organ at the age of 7 and moved onto piano which saw him performing regularly in contempaory music bands, church bands and in smaller ensembles. After working over ten years in retail music David returned to study and obtained a Bachelor of Education (Primary) from Monash University. His vast experience in music education includes creating new whole-school music programs in three different schools and co-coordinating and conducting concert bands, rock bands and choirs.  Feedback and requests from the local school community saw David establish the Lynbrook School of Music in 2008, which has since grown to be uLearn Music.  David has also been an active practitioner of technology in music education. Alongside using technology in the music classroom, David has mentored other teachers, presented in education conferences in Australia and New Zealand, and in 2013 was recognised by his peers in being awarded the Victorian Information Technologies Teachers Association Award for Outstanding Achievement in the ICT Primary Teaching Sector. 

David is the very proud parent of three adult children, all of whom are in the education sector, and a beautiful grand daughter.  David’s son, Josh, teaches drums at uLearn.

Through his highly motivated and passionate approach, David’s mission is to foster a love of music with students of all ages and provide them with the knowlege and skills required to continue their musical journey.
